Assistive Devices Dalarna is part of Region Dalarna and is responsible for ensuring that people with disabilities have access to safe and functional assistive devices. We work across the county with testing, adaptation, service, and development of assistive devices in areas such as mobility, communication, cognition, treatment, and personal care. Our mission is to create conditions for increased independence and quality of life - regardless of where you live. Our department - Communication, alarms, environmental control, and cognition (KLOK)

We work to enable people with disabilities to communicate, alarm, control their environment, and receive support in everyday life. We assist prescribers in finding the best solution for each individual - from speaking assistive devices and communication computers to alarms, remote control of functions in the home, and cognitive aids such as planning aids and time aids. We also develop solutions for the implementation of self-monitoring and welfare technology that increases safety, independence, and participation in daily life.

Job Responsibilities

Assistive Technology Technician - Digital Assistive Devices and Cloud Services

You will be a key person in the development of future assistive device management, where technology and humanity meet. Here, you combine your digital skills with practical work, drive development, and collaborate with colleagues and experts to create safe and innovative solutions.

What do we offer?

As an assistive technology technician focusing on digital assistive devices and cloud services, you will have a varied and responsible job. You will be a hub in:

• Ensuring functional and safe assistive devices (refurbishment, technical support, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, information/training)
• Being a knowledge support during the introduction of new digital assistive devices and services
• Developing management of licenses, accounts, and personal data within the assistive device area
• Working with procurement and digital information security
• Engaging in dialogue with internal and external stakeholders (lawyers, information security coordinators, purchasers, suppliers, other regions, and municipalities)

Role as an Assistive Technology Technician

In addition to the digital work, the role also includes tasks as an assistive technology technician. This involves troubleshooting, repairs, support, supplier contacts, and installations - both at the office and at the assistive device user's home. You combine technical competence with practical problem-solving to ensure that assistive devices work safely and efficiently. Your base location is Borlänge, but to meet the needs of our assistive device users, travel throughout Dalarna will occur.

Qualifications

Who are you?

You have an academic degree, for example in computer science or similar, and an interest in combining technology with practical work. You are structured, solution-oriented, and enjoy working both independently and in teams.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Academic education in IT, computer science, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Computer skills and understanding of cloud services
• Knowledge of GDPR and how it affects the handling of personal data
• The ability to work strategically with digital solutions
• A valid driver's license (B)

Meritorious:

• Experience in information security, procurement, or license management
• Knowledge of medical technical aids
• Experience in technical support or service work
